System Requirements

superMate is a hosted solution with a thin application footprint on the desktop.  Unlike traditional software products, superMate takes care of patching itself when new updates are available.  All complex processing is performed on the servers in the hosting centre, which leads to lower PC requirements for your office.

PC Requirements

superMate is designed to run in a Windows environment on PC based computers.  It can also be run on other platforms, for example Mac or Linux, if you run it inside a virtual environment.  superMate has been tested running inside VMWare.  The following are the minimum PC requirements:

• Intel or AMD based computer @ 1.33Ghz or higher
• Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 or higher (also supported on Vista and Windows 7)
• Screen resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher
• 32 bit or 64 bit operating systems supported
• Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 or higher
• 512MB Ram
• 500MB Hard disk space for installation and cache
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher (required for installation)*

Note: Installation can be performed without Internet Explorer or higher by using our CD installation method

To access our training videos or webinars you will need access to a computer with a sound card and graphics card capable of playing videos.

Internet Requirements

superMate is hosted in an Enterprise Data Centre with redundant Internet connections.  For you to run the application you will need to be able to connect to our hosting centre using port 80.  If you have a firewall that does not allow Internet connections on port 80 you will need to consult with your System Administrator. superMate works best over a broadband Internet connection with ADSL or Cable as a minimum.  The application has been optimised to send as little information as possible between your office and hosting centre.

Backup and Disaster Recovery

All data in superMate is archived to tape each night for disaster recovery purposes.  Should you need us to restore a previous days backup due to data loss or errors this can be undertaken and charges will apply.
