Answers to common questionsPurchase Questions1. What is the cost of a subscription to superMate?
Answer: Subscribers to the annual or daily versions of superMate will only pay for the number of active funds during that month, subject to a minimum subscription of 10 funds. Each fund that exists on the system at some time during the calendar month and has/had at least one non-zero account balance in the general ledger will hence be charged. Please see our pricing page for details of subscription prices.
2. How long must I initially subscribe for?
Answer: The minimum subscription period at the end of your free trial is three months.
3. What is the price of the Investment Pricing data stream?
Answer: Investment pricing consists of a fixed rate plus a fixed per fund rate for each fund registered on superMate for the month. Both ASX equity and managed fund data will be provided. Clients who only require an annual price feed for 30 June each year will be charged based on the number of funds registered on superMate in June of that year. The subscription to the data feed is for a minimum of twelve months and the service type determines how many times new prices are added to the database. Please see our pricing section for data feed subscription prices.
4. What happens when I have finished with a fund and I wish it to be taken off my funds list?
Answer: Once you have finished with a fund (say it has wound up or the Trustees have moved to another administrator) you can de-activate the fund on superMate. Once a fund is no longer active you can view or print reports and historical information but you cannot add any additional data. You can re-activate a fund but must pay all outstanding fees since it was de-activated plus a re-activation fee. Your monthly invoice will only include funds which were active during the month. Please see our pricing section for current prices.
5. Is there an installation fee for superMate?
Answer: No we do not charge an installation fee, all that is necessary is that you fill in our on-line application form and you will soon be up and running. Alternatively you can download our trial system for a free thirty day trial.
6. Can I buy superMate and run it internally instead of using the hosted option?
Answer: Only very large sites in excess of 1500 SMSFs will be able to host superMate internally – that is not use the hosted option. A pricing surcharge will apply for locally hosted versions of superMate to cover the additional support costs and not all superMate services will be available on the locally hosted version.
IT Questions1. Can I move my Trial Environment to my Live Environment after the 30 day free trial?
Answer: Yes you can, subject to the commencement of a superMate subscription with a minimum of 10 funds within 10 days of your free trial expiring. Note that during the 30 day trial your information will reside in our Trial Environment which does not support the same high quality data backup as does our Live Environment. The intention of the Trial Environment is to evaluate superMate not to process real SMSF data.
2. What happens if our Internet is down?
Answer: Our experience is that Internet connections are very rarely down for any length of time. However, if your local connection to the Internet does fail you will not be able to access superMate. Having said that, the strength of the Internet is that you can access it from almost anywhere so if your office is out of contact you can still access superMate from your home, another office or the internet cafe down the road.
3. I have three full time staff on super, will I need extra bandwidth?
Answer: superMate has been designed from the ground up to be a “thin client” which means that it uses the Internet connection very cleverly and requires a minimum of bandwidth. While we are still testing for the exact amount of bandwidth required for an average user, we do not expect that this number of users will have a dramatic impact on your bandwidth requirements.
Security Questions1. Is my data safe?
Answer: While the trial version of superMate does not offer any data protection features the Live Environment is hosted in a fully secure hosting environment which is used by some of Australia’s largest companies. Supercorp does not host the Live Environment itself. Our standard hosting option provides for nightly backups which are written to external tape drives and stored in a secure environment. Additional backup options are available for an additional fee if required, contact us for more details.
2. Can anyone else access my data?
Answer: No, unlike some hosted services which are multi-tenancy the superMate solution is single tenancy meaning that each client’s database is unique and separate from any other client’s database. There is no chance that anyone else can access your data unless you have given them the access keys.
Support Questions1. When will you cease providing support and updates for SuperVisor II SMSF clients and Superfund?
Answer: We have committed to providing support for SMSF clients on these two products until 30 June 2012. After this date it is our expectation that no clients will still be using this software for SMSF administration.
2. How can I get my data off superMate if I need?
Answer: Supercorp will provide your data in CSV format for a standard download fee. This cost covers the cost of shutting down your server environment. There is no minimum notice period but your fund must still be active when you request the data to be downloaded. Importantly you still own your data.
3. What training is available with superMate?
Answer: superMate is provided with a series of free on-line training videos to help your staff get started quickly. Additional “live” webinars will be scheduled to provide further training in specialist areas, which may be chargeable, and face to face training will also be available.
Data Migration Questions1. Can I transfer my data from other superannuation products to superMate?
Answer: Yes, superMate has a data migration capability which will assist in the transfer of data from these packages. While some sites will have to load their funds one at a time, and will not be able to re-open prior year's information which have been closed on these products, SuperVisor II and Superfund clients will be able to load their entire database onto superMate automatically in one go.
2. Can I rely on the quality of the data that is transferred into superMate?
Answer: Yes, the superMate data migration capability has performed very well in our testing and will faithfully and correctly reproduce the data in superMate. However, the success of all data migration activities is dependent on the quality of the original data and superMate is no exception. Also, as part of the migration, funds will be moved into the new standard superMate chart of accounts which may differ from your current software charts of accounts. Clients moving from some products will be required to pay a once off per fund transfer fee in addition to the standard superMate subscription charges.
